ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
Kate is a veteran in the hospice world with fourteen years of experience in guiding seniors and decision makers in the art and science of hospice and end of life care decisions. You can find Kate with her husband Franklin, son Smith and three Cavalier King Charles Spaniels on the campus of Blue Ridge School in her free time. Kate also operates an AIRBNB in Barboursville, VA and is an active member of Buck Mountain Episcopal Church and Lay Eucharistic Minister. She is also a current chair of CVADC. She is also active in the Charlottesville Clergy Collaborative and specializes in faith communities. Kate is inspired by her love of God to serve in this line of work.
EXPERIENCE
Advance Care Planner and Hospice Care Consultant
Kate has been helping families since 2009. She found her passion over the years in advising seniors and their caregivers on the complex healthcare system and navigating the specialties of advance care conversations. Prior to joining a hospice company, she led seniors and families through banking, investments and financial services education and utilization.
She has found that many families enter into the senior care scene with more questions and less time than ever before. She can offer her advocacy in the hospital setting, skilled nursing setting or in the home. The insurances, the care levels, what’s included - what do we do next? She can also debunk some myths and distill the process down to where do we go from here?
